Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Mi manuscrito cuenta con la correspondiente Numeración de páginas
  • Tengo el Título en español y en inglés
  • Tengo el Nombre, apellido(s), Institución y e-mail de cada autor (según usanza en cada país)
  • Poseo un documento Firmado de cada autor aceptando la publicación del manuscrito para ser enviado al Editor cuando éste lo solicite
  • Tengo claridad de quién es el Autor responsable el cual será debidamente indicado en el manuscrito y durante el envío de éste para evaluación.
  • Poseo la  correspondiente  Declaración de conflictos de interés
  • Poseo la información, respecto a las Fuentes de financiamiento de esta investigación
  • Tengo el Resumen, tanto en español como en inglés y su longitud es de hasta 200 palabras.
  • Tengo las Palabras clave tanto en español como en inglés.
  • El Texto está escrito con inserción de referencias en orden correlativo de citación como se indica en la Guia para Autores 
  • Las tablas, gráficos y figuras,se han insertado en el texto en orden correlativo de aparición como se indica en la Guia para Autores .
  • Las Referencias bibliográficas de mi manuscrito se encuentran incorporadas según las convenciones de Index Medicus/MEDLINE, y se incluyen los DOI de cada referencia cuando están disponibles.
  • Poseo la  Carta de aprobación de Comité de Ética correspondiente para efectuar estudio clínico para ser enviada cuando me sea solicitada
  • Poseo la(s) carta(s) de Consentimiento de paciente(s) para reproducir material fotográfico y/o información clínica personal
  • Poseo la Carta de cesión de propiedad intelectual de todos los contenidos del manuscrito para ser enviadas al Editor

  • Todas las Tablas, gráficos, fotografías y figuras, cuentan con sus respectivas leyendas y  poseo los archivos en su formato original o archivo JPG de alta resolución.

  • Poseo las respectivas Autorizaciones escritas para la publicación de material que no esté cubierto por licencias creative commons antes publicado, o en caso de información no publicada, poseo la autorización del autor.

Author Guidelines

Contributions submitted to Revista Chilena de Infectología must comply with all the points listed below.

Failure to do so will result in the manuscript being returned to the authors.

  • Title in Spanish
  • Title in English
  • Authors' names
  • Signature of each author
  • Specification of each author's contribution to the manuscript (see Authorship paragraph)
  • Affiliation of each author
  • Corresponding author's name
  • Corresponding author's email
  • Abstract in both Spanish and English (must be fully consistent with the Spanish version)
  • Keywords in Spanish and English (3 to 6) separated by ";"
  • Text
  • References, including DOIs for each reference

Specific Instructions by Document Type

  1. Clinical Studies: The articles must follow this structure in both the text and abstract: Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Acknowledgments (optional). Maximum length: 18 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.
    Additionally, the following documents must be attached: Institutional Ethics Committee Approval Letter, Conflict of Interest Declaration, and Funding Statement.

  2. Clinical Experiences: The structure should be similar to Clinical Studies. Maximum length: 18 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.
    Additionally, a letter from the institution's administration authorizing publication for academic purposes must be attached.

  3. Review Articles: Limited to a maximum of three authors. Maximum length: 30 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.
    A Conflict of Interest Declaration must be attached.

  4. Case Reports: Limited to a maximum of five authors. Maximum length: 12 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.
    Additionally, a signed document from the patient or legal representative authorizing the publication of clinical data or images must be included.

  5. Brief Communications: May include one table and one figure. Maximum length: 4 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.

  6. Letter to the Editor: Maximum length: 2 letter-sized pages, double-spaced, font size 12.

Authorship

The first author is considered to be the one who made the most significant contribution to the manuscript.
Authors are those who actively participated in the research and the writing of the submitted manuscript.
Those who made significant contributions to the research, such as data collection or reviewing the manuscript's academic style, may be listed in the Acknowledgments section of the article.

For these reasons, each author must specify their involvement in one or more of the following tasks, indicating their contribution to the manuscript:

  • Conception/design of the work
  • Data collection
  • Data analysis/discussion
  • Literature review
  • Manuscript preparation
  • Final version review

Review Article

Los Artículos de Revisión no excederán en número a tres autores. Extensión máxima: 30 páginas tamaño carta, doble espacio, con letra tamaño 12. 
Además, deben adjuntar una Declaración de Conflictos de Interés

Clinical Expreience

Los artículos de Experiencias Clínicas deben tener la siguiente estructura en el texto y en el resumen: Introducción, Objetivos, Material y Métodos, Resultados, Discusión y Conclusiones. Extensión máxima: 18 páginas tamaño carta, doble espacio, con letra tamaño 12.
Además, deben adjuntar carta de la Dirección del establecimiento autorizando la publicación con fines académicos. 

Clinical Case

Los artículos de Casos Clínicos no excederán en número a cinco autores. Extensión máxima: 12 páginas tamaño carta, doble espacio, con letra tamaño 12.
Además, deben adjuntar un documento de autorización del paciente o representante legal para publicar datos clínicos o imágenes del paciente en cuestión.

Short Communication

Puede incluir una tabla y un gráfico. Extensión máxima: 4 páginas tamaño carta, doble espacio, con letra tamaño 12.

Letter to Editor

Extensión máxima: 2 páginas tamaño carta, doble espacio, con letra tamaño 12

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  • Authors will retain their copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication of their work, which will be simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License. This license allows others to share the work as long as the author and the journal's first publication are properly credited.

  • Authors may enter into additional non-exclusive distribution agreements for the version of the work published (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or include it in a monographic volume), provided the initial publication in this journal is acknowledged.
