Abstract

Infection by Pneumocystis jirovecii in patients with severe respiratory infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 is a situation that we must take into account today. Corticotherapy along with other risk factors predisposes to it. It is a diagnostic challenge and, after treatment, the prognosis is favorable. We report the case of a male with severe pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 who received corticosteroid treatment, later developing pneumonia due to P. jirovecii.
